Coffee Coffee Coffee

So you might say... 'shocking another Starbucks layout' right? I know... very surprising. But I put the challenge out at Let's Scrap to use a song title for the title of your layout and I came across these loose pics and they needed a layout and this song popped into my head and then a layout was born!!!

"I won't last a day without you" by the Carpenters
My adorable husband was showing me how to scan and merge images tonight... the detail is incredible but I still need to play with it a little bit... but very happy with it and the layout!! Well off to bed for me and my adorable guy... Night All!! :0)

Let's Scrap Design Team Challenge!!!

I'm so excited!! This was my first DT Challenge at Let's Scrap!! I tinkered and tweaked this layout for days.... The Challenge is that you do a layout with a song title as your page title... mine was 'Rockin Around the Christmas Tree'. Years ago when we had 5 teenage boys in the house, craziness! I was trying to get a pic of the kids in front of the Christmas tree with Santa hats on.... was soooo not happening easily. After watching them being goofy I decided to start taking pics and do a lil mini photo shoot thinking how great it would be on a layout.... well.... years later I finally got the layout done!!! :0)

My tree is from an old Deluxe Cuts and I added some stickles to it...

Used some twine from The Twinery... used my Lyrical Letters, Base Camp and Quarter Note Cricut Carts for all my lettering and music notes....

I had so much fun with this layout. I hope it inspires everyone to get a little playful with their layouts. Come to Let's Scrap at take part of the challenge or do it yourself.... Have fun with it!! :0)

I put the challenge out on Facebook (if not a friend and want to be look me up Cathy van de Bruinhorst) and let me know and I'll add you to the group OR go to Let's Scrap at www.letsscrap.ning.com and look up the group for 100 layouts in 2012 and look for my LOAD Challenge and hook it up there.... I know you guys can do it.. and even if you don't get too 31 layouts for January, just think of it and try it... :0) Thanks!!

Making some cards for my craft show.....

'May many blessings come your way on this Thanksgiving Day' ... I'm very pleased with the way this card turned out, even more with the fact that I got to play with a few new goodies that I got at the Scrapbooking Expo last month.. :0)
the inks that I used are Staz-on Rusty Brown and Dark Brown Liquid Chalks. The leaves are cut and stamped with Heartfelt Creations goodies, I used a Clear Star gel pen on the leaves and some copper Stickles along the bottom. I leave the inside of my cards empty.... lovin' the fall colors! :0) Now back to making some more cards up... I'll post them as I go along...

Getting ready for the Christmas Goose.....

I am so behind this year getting ready for the Christmas Goose... it is the only craft show I do thru the year and I haven't been getting alot done due to the foster kids we have in the house right now. But... this weekend my goal is to get some Halloween paperbag albums done... getting the first one figured out is always the hardest part and then the rest usually fall into place... So I have gotten the front cover finally figured out. Using StazOn inks, Eyelets, Magic Scraps, Happy Hauntings Cricut cart, Stickles, GlimmerMist and Glitter Pen.... here it is... You can't see all the sparkles from the pic but boy is it sparkly!! :0) Now to get the rest of the bag figured out... ;0)

Live Laugh Love.....

Live long, Laugh often and Love forever.....

this is a layout I did from a Let's Scrap sketch... I chose to do only the left side of the sketch but love the way it turned out. I LOVE this picture of us.. we went to Las Vegas for my birthday this past summer and this was taken on my birthday in Margaritaville... my guy is just so adorable... love him to pieces!!

this the sketch I used

these are some of the details of the page that I did... the chipboard was sprayed with glimmer mist colors and then sparkling diamonds over the top to give it a little more bling...

I inked the words with Tim Holtz demin jeans distress inks and then I did a little rub on stitching with some of my DaisyD's rub-ons... love the Basic Grey papers too... being as orange is my fav color I am very happy with the layout... :0)

Scrapbooking Expo....

So excited to go to the Scrapbooking Expo in Sacramento this weekend!! There is a group of us going for 2 days of fun... Friday and Saturday. They open the doors at 8am and close at Midnight... not that we will be there when they open the doors or be there until they close... but we could... we might... you never know!! :0)

Going thru my goodies and planning out my layouts... wanting to take everything I need without taking a truck and trailer full of goodies there... :0) I guess if I forget anything I can always finish the layout when I get home... half the battle will be done already right?? I am going to be taking the kids wedding stuff down... hopefully getting a few more layouts done; the foster kids albums... get them all caught up, I'm only a few months behind so not bad... :0); some Gunslinger stuff down.... you never know what I might find there to work on some motorcycle layouts.... and I will take a few other sets of pics to play with....

Can't wait to take a few classes... see all the new goodies... visit with my girly's... shop.... shop... and shop... :0) Wish me luck on getting some actual scrapbooking done!!

Coffee Coffee Coffee.....

This is another layout using the same Let's Scrap Sketch... I'm not allowed to show the foster kids faces online so I had to distort the image of her face... but here is the Starbucks layout... or one of them anyways.. :0)

My printer is out of ink so I will add the journaling later this weekend... :)

Gunslingers are Born.....

This layout is off from a Let's Scrap sketch 9-28-11. This is a layout for the Gunslinger MC album.. the guys had just gotten their vests back.. before being patched in... Now off to get some more scrapbooking done... :0)

Memories......

I did this layout for a Let's Scrap Design Team Challenge... the challenge was using masks and stamping in a layout and this is what I came up with. I love the way the layout turned out it is very heritage looking.... this is a picture of my mother and her 4 siblings as children. I think this is the only picture I have seen of all 5 of them together... not sure of the date so I will do the journaling when I can figure that out... thanks for checking it out... :)

Pearls....

This was last weeks sketch from Let's Scrap... I've been a little busy so I just got it finished. This is another layout from the kids wedding and Hannah's Dad putting on her pearls..... love the pics! :0)
this is the punch I used....

a little poem that goes as follows: "Daddy's Little Girl - Through the years you've been there for all life's brought my way, from friendships, boys and homework and now my wedding day. I want so much to thank you for all you've given me... your care, your love and wisdom and the lasting memories. For even though I'm now grown up dressed in silk and pearls, remember this my wedding day... I'm still your little girl. I love you Daddy."

This is the sketch I used for the layout....

My Son...

So tonight I sit at my scrapbooking table totally out of sorts. This afternoon around 4pm my son came thru the front door... 'mommy help'.. this from a 6ft 1in, 200 lb... 17 yr old boy. His face was swollen and bleeding... everywhere.... tossed him in the shower and started rinsing off his face to see what the damage was... threw on some dry clothes and off we were to Urgent Care. He will be ok... 5 hrs later we were home with 3 stitches on the side of his nose, a slight concussion, black and blue all over his face and swelling that just doesn't seem to want to stop. Scratches and bruises all over him.... he was walking down the street with a friend, a car went by and the guys were starring them down and they 'barked at them'.. yes I said barked at them... ??? The guys in the car went down the street and turned around and came up behind the boys and jumped them. Taylor got the worst end of the deal the kid that went at him went at his face and did a nasty job of it too. I handled it like any mom would do... protecting my boy... now I sit... he is asleep and I am shaking and in tears and absolutely in shock at the thought of someone just pounding their fists into his face... someone they didn't know at all. Not caring what kind of damage that they would do and then jumping in a car and running away... I don't get it and I don't want too either. My poor little boy... he may not be small enough to sit on my lap and me hold him when he is sick anymore but he is still my little boy and I am just in shock at this... what is this world coming too...? And I wonder... if I chain him to his bed in his room will I get into trouble for it??  A mom has to protect after all.... :0(

The Dress.....

Ok.. not my best layout but I'm happy with it. I was trying out for the DT at Green Tangerine's and you could only use products from their store, and while the store is huge I hadn't been there for a few months so I went with some basic stuff that I 'knew' they would still have... so I did another wedding layout.. :0)

I have scrapbooked these pics before for one of the albums that I am making... so here is another spin on the same photos...

font is from my Cricut - lyrical letters, sewing from my Sew Easy... liquid chalks, stickles....

a close up of the stitching....
I didn't know what they had in stock on flowers so I just used my cricut and George cart to cut out my own - crinkle, ink and stickle and done....

So we will see what happens with the Green Tangerine DT... otherwise at least I tried out for it and when I dropped it off I picked up a few new goodies... ;0) Besides there is always next year....

Zola Emily Moak

I did this layout for a Let's Scrap Design Team challenge... the challenge was to use an 8x10 pic, 5 shapes and some twine.... so I have my 8x10 pic... my 5 shapes are at the bottom of the page and the twine is tied from the layout to the tag... check, check, check... done!!This is a picture of my Grandmother Zola's Graduating Class from Bigg Union High School, Class of 1929. The picture wasn't in great shape but I got ahold of it and made a copy of it.. years ago. It was a little odd sized as well and not very straight, which is why I ran the chipboard piece down the side.. to distract from it.. :0)

I tied the tag with twine and then I pop dotted the tag with Glue Dots Pop Up's ... love them!!

The chipboard was glued down with Glue Dots Mini Dots... I inked this with dark brown liquid chalk..
There is my beautiful Grandmother... Zola Emily Moak. A beautiful woman inside and out... not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her. This layout will go in my Heritage Album....

Always and Forever.....

This is a layout done with Sketchabilities sketch #54... photo look familiar? Why yes it does... I'm doing up 3 12x12 albums of the kids wedding and I used the same photo with a sketch from Let's Scrap.. :0)
So here is the sketch and a few close ups of the layout...

couldn't find the right coloring in the flowers I had so I ended up using Tim Holtz Distress Inks... 3 different colors to get what I wanted here...

LOVE this pic of the 2 of them... so in love...
